Area Measurement
The Measure Area tool provides the means to calculate the area of a polygon drawn by a user.
Activate the tool by clicking the icon and click on a spot on the map. Single-click more vertexes surrounding the area to be calculated and double-click to complete the drawn polygon.

There is also a unit option to select different units of measure like acres, feet, Imperial and Metric unit selections. In addition, the perimeter of an area is also calculated.

To reset the tool, click on the "New Measurement" bar at the bottom of the results window.
To close the tool, click on the collapse button that the Measure Area icon turned into upon activating: .png)
