This data was created as part of the Accident Location Information System (ALIS) project. ALIS is a multi-agency project involving the NYS Office of Cyber Security & Critical Infrastructure Coordination (CSCIC), the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and the NYS Department of Transportation (DOT). A major component of the ALIS Project was the creation of up-to-date statewide Geographic Information System (GIS) files.
